Carmen Drummond

Chief of Staff

Carmen Drummond is the Chief of Staff to LPI’s President and CEO, Linda Darling-Hammond. Additionally, Drummond is the point person for facilitating and supporting the implementation of the President and CEO’s strategic vision and management of key initiatives.

Prior to joining the Learning Policy Institute, Drummond served in several roles at the U.S. Department of Education. Most recently, she was the Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education. She also served at the U.S. Departments of Labor, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security, and she worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and on various political campaigns.

Drummond holds an M.A. in Political Communication from American University and a B.A. in Political Science and Communication from California State University, Fullerton.
