Melissa Bellin

Melissa Bellin is a Senior Policy Advisor at the Learning Policy Institute. Currently, she is a member of the Federal Policy team, where she works on topics including educator quality and fiscal equity.
Prior to joining LPI, Bellin was a Professional Staff Member on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor under the leadership of Chairman Bobby Scott, where she led a portfolio of K–12 education issues. Prior to this role, Bellin held positions in policy research and advocacy at Digital Promise and The Education Trust. Before entering education policy, she began her career in Washington, DC, as a classroom teacher.
Bellin holds an MA in Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Sociology from Harvard University.
