Marcy Singer-Gabella is the Chief of Operations at the Learning Policy Institute. Singer-Gabella leads LPI's operational infrastructure—spanning the design of organizational systems and processes, people and organizational development, and technology and cybersecurity. In this role, she translates LPI's strategy and values into practical supports that enable staff to focus on high-quality, mission-driven work, while strengthening LPI's capacity for thoughtful decision-making and long-term resilience.

Before joining LPI, Singer-Gabella spent more than three decades on the faculty of Vanderbilt University's Department of Teaching and Learning, where her research and teaching focused on research-practice partnerships, community engagement, and educator learning and leadership in urban schools. She held a range of leadership roles in university and PreK–12 settings building on this work, including founding faculty director of the Nashville Partnership for Educational Equity Research and Chief of Staff of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. The through line of her work has been a focus on building partnerships and capacity to provide equitable and empowering learning opportunities for all young people and the adults who serve them.

Singer-Gabella holds a PhD in Curriculum and Teacher Education from Stanford University, an MEd in Social Studies Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in Slavic Languages and Literature (Russian and Soviet Studies focus) from Harvard University.
