Student and Community Voice AI Summit
This 2-day summit in Anaheim, CA, brings together K–12 educators, students, families, and community leaders to engage in workshops and lesson showcases codesigned with students, as well as pre-summit school site visits, that illustrate how AI can expand measures of student success beyond test scores to include agency, belonging, and authentic demonstrations of learning.

Deeper Learning 2026
March 30–April 1, 2026 | High Tech High Graduate School of Education will host its annual 3-day convening in San Diego, CA, where educators and school leaders can engage in immersive workshops and full-day sessions designed to build competencies in student-centered learning. The conference focuses on student codesigned learning, shared decision-making, and student-led exhibitions as practical approaches for schools working to expand learner agency.

Inside an Innovative Maine High School: A Two-Day Learning Visit
April 9-10, 2026 | Next Generation Learning Challenges, a nonprofit initiative focused on college readiness and completion, is offering a learning excursion to observe innovative instruction and proficiency-based grading at Casco Bay High School in Portland, Maine—a model school using standards-based assessments, authentic project-based learning expeditions, and student portfolios to demonstrate mastery of course standards.

Implementing Standards-Based Grading: Aligning Assessment With Proficiency
May 16, 2026, 4:00 p.m. ET | The New York State Education Department’s Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages webinar examines how grading practices can clearly reflect what students know and can do, rather than their behaviors or point accumulation. Participants will learn practical strategies for using standards-based grading to design aligned grade books, assessments, and feedback that communicate student proficiency to families and stakeholders.

May 19, 2026, 3:00 p.m. ET | The Learner-Centered Collaborative will host a webinar in which students share their own learning through real projects and personal reflections, offering a clear picture of how they’ve grown over time. Participants will hear directly from students, explore their work in small groups, and reflect with other educators on how authentic demonstrations of student growth can be used in their school or district.
