Sarah Klevan is a Senior Researcher at the Learning Policy Institute. She specializes in designing and conducting qualitative research on whole child educational practices and the systemic and structural conditions that sustain them.

Prior to joining LPI, Klevan was a Research Associate at the Research Alliance for New York City Schools, where her research on immigrant youth support, college readiness, anti-racist teacher development, and restorative approaches to school discipline explored how schools can both reinforce and challenge inequality. Her research has been published in scholarly journals such as Teachers College Record, Teaching and Teacher Education, Voices in Urban Education, and Research in Higher Education.

Earlier in her career, Klevan taught 5th and 6th grade in Philadelphia and served as a fellow with the Jewish Organizing Initiative in Boston, experiences that continue to inform her research. She holds a PhD from New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, an MSEd in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, and a BA in International Relations from Tufts University.
