Clement Kirabo Jackson is Associate Professor of Human Development and Social Policy at the Institute for Policy Research and an Associate Professor in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. In 2023, he was appointed by President Biden to the Council of Economic Advisers. Jackson is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. A labor economist, he studies education and social policy issues. His recent work analyzes the role of peer learning in teacher effectiveness, the effects of school funding reforms on long-term education outcomes, and information about the relationship between student demographics and the distribution of teacher quality across schools. Jackson is a member of the National Academy of Education and the National Academy of Arts and Sciences.
