David Berliner served as a Senior Research Fellow for the Learning Policy Institute. He was Regents’ Professor of Education Emeritus at Arizona State University. He was a member of the National Academy of Education and the International Academy of Education, and served as President of both the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the Division of Educational Psychology of the American Psychological Association (APA). He was the winner of numerous awards, most notably the Brock International Prize In Education, the AERA Award for Distinguished Contributions to Education, and the E. L. Thorndike Award from the APA for lifetime achievements.
