Michael Fullan is the former Dean of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and Professor Emeritus of the University of Toronto. He is co-leader of the New Pedagogies for Deep Learning global initiative. Recognized as a worldwide authority on educational reform, he advises policymakers, local leaders, and school communities in helping to achieve the moral purpose of all children’s learning. Fullan served as Special Policy Adviser to Premier Dalton McGuinty in Ontario from 2003 to 2013; he received the Order of Canada (OC) in December 2012. Fullan is a prolific award-winning author whose books have been published in many languages. He received the 2002 Book of the Year Award by Learning Forward for Leading in a Culture of Change, a book that he revised and updated as a Second Edition to appear in January 2020. Andy Hargreaves and Michael Fullan’s book, Professional Capital received the Grawemeyer Award in 2015.
