Jennifer A. Bland is a Senior Researcher at LPI. She leads LPI’s work on COVID-19 school health and safety and is a member of the Educator Quality team. Much of Bland’s research has focused on the teacher labor market and the teacher development system, including studies of teacher supply, demand, and distribution; teacher induction; teacher professional development and support; and teacher evaluation and compensation. She has also co-authored numerous studies on school reform and improving higher education access and outcomes for students from historically marginalized groups. Before joining LPI, Bland worked as an education researcher at SRI International’s Center for Education Policy and subsequently as an independent consultant.
Bland received a B.A. in political science from Stanford University and an M.A. in education policy, organization, and leadership studies from the Stanford Graduate School of Education.
