Breadcrumb
The COVID-19 crisis upended schools and widened gaping inequities that already existed within the American education system. The shifts between distance and in-person learning, widespread staffing shortages, limited access to technology for many students, and shifting policies have caused ongoing challenges to learning. This time of disruption offers policymakers and educators an opportunity to reinvent education systems using safe, equitable, and student-centered approaches that can not only address the problems caused by the pandemic, but also incorporate what we know from modern science about how people learn and thrive. Science can also inform how schools keep students healthy and safe as we move forward; for this, it is essential that educators and policymakers have access to critical, curated information about COVID-19 health and safety.
