Steve Wojcikiewicz

Senior Researcher and Policy Advisor

Steve Wojcikiewicz is a Senior Researcher and Policy Advisor at the Learning Policy Institute. His research focuses on educator preparation practice and policy, state educator workforce systems, and the intersection of educator preparation and the science of learning and development.

Wojcikiewicz has two decades of experience across the field of education. He has taught high school social studies and band in Oklahoma and worked as an experiential educator aboard sailing vessels across the country. After earning his PhD, he served as a teacher education professor at Western Oregon University, earning tenure before moving on to policy-focused roles at the American Federation of Teachers in Washington, DC, and at Deans for Impact in Austin, TX. Immediately prior to joining LPI, he was the Director of the Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Portland in Oregon. He is a co-author of the books Preparing Teachers for Deeper Learning and Preparing Leaders for Deeper Learning.

Wojcikiewicz has a PhD in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology from Michigan State University, an MA in Teaching from the University of Portland, and a BA in History and Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
